The Salzburger Verkehrsverbund ( SVV ) ensures local public transport in the federal state of Salzburg and the catchment areas of the city ​​of Salzburg in neighboring Upper Austria and Bavaria . The SIA is characterized by a simple tariff system in which all modes of transport in the region have been integrated. With the introduction of the honeycomb system, it is now possible to use all public transport with just one ticket.

history

  • 1991: In the Salzburg regional transport concept 1991 , in addition to numerous other projects to strengthen local public transport, the establishment of a transport association is formulated as a goal for the first time.
  • April 27, 1995: The SVG (Salzburger Verkehrsverbund Gesellschaft mbH) is established with a share capital of three million schillings .
  • May 28, 1995: The basic and financing agreement concluded between the Republic of Austria and the State of Salzburg comes into force. This defines the spatial scope and the main features of the tariff system.
  • January 1, 1999: The SIA takes care of the ticket machines in the network area.
  • July 1, 2003: The SIA's old income guarantee ends and tariff responsibility is transferred to the transport company.
  • November 30, 2003: The previous basic and financing agreement expires and will be replaced by a new one.
  • December 14, 2003: The city of Salzburg's route network is given a completely new structure. Lines are being optimized, clocks are being improved, the night star is being introduced and the numbering system is being standardized across the entire network.
  • September 2004: The previous student ID cards are replaced by the "s'COOL-CARD".
  • June 16, 2006: Integration of DB Regio lines into the Salzburg transport association. The S3 ( KBS 954 ) runs to Berchtesgaden in the network tariff.
  • February 1, 2007: Richard Kobler takes over the position of managing director
  • September 17, 2013: Richard Kobler resigns as managing director
  • August 2013: Introduction of federal state network cards for schoolchildren and apprentices (SUPER s'COOL-CARD)
  • February 2014: Allegra Frommer becomes managing director
  • June 12, 2015: The transport association gets a new look. Salzburg Verkehr is the name of the new brand.
  • January 1, 2020: Introduction of the new myRegio annual tickets. The zone system is only used for single trip and day tickets. Several zones were divided into one region. There is a network function in these regions.
  • February 2020: Introduction of the product "myRegio student", the "StudentCARD" will be replaced. New validity 6 months instead of 5 months, extension to federal state network function, price uniformly 150 € (for this price there was previously only the core zone city of Salzburg).

The Salzburger Verkehrsverbund comprises the state capital Salzburg as well as the entire state of Salzburg. In addition, there are parts of the federal state of Upper Austria bordering Salzburg ( Innviertel to Braunau , Hausruckviertel to Attnang-Puchheim , Salzkammergut to Bad Ischl ) and the district of Berchtesgadener Land in neighboring Bavaria .

The transport companies in the Salzburg transport association serve well over half a million people. Around 68.9 million people were transported in 2015:

  • 41.5 million passengers in city traffic (including transfer passengers)
  • 27.4 million passengers in regional traffic (including transfer passengers)

The Salzburger Verkehrsverbund transports more than 188,800 passengers to their desired destination every day. Around 550 buses and 5 railway companies provide a service of around 28 million kilometers per year.

All rail network partner companies in the network area can be used with an SVV ticket. So the sprinter line Salzburg - Saalfelden , the regional line Zell am See - Krimml , the ÖBB express train line Salzburg - Linz (to Attnang-Puchheim), the regional line Steindorf b.
