Sarrod is a district of Steinau an der Strasse in the Main-Kinzig district in East Hesse .

Sarrod is located in the north of the Main-Kinzig district about 8 km northwest of the main town in the Vogelsberg . State road 3178 runs through the village .

history
The first written mention comes from the year 1292.
On April 1, 1972, Sarrod was incorporated into the neighboring municipality of Ulmbach as part of the regional reform in Hesse . This was by virtue of state law in the city Steinau, today "Steinau" 1 July 1974 at amalgamated . A local district with a local advisory board and mayor was set up for Sarrod .
