Sascha Rösler (born October 28, 1977 in Tettnang ) is a former German football player .

career

youth

Rösler began playing football at TSV Meckenbeuren in 1982. He came to SSV Ulm 1846 in 1992 via VfB Friedrichshafen , which is more known for volleyball , for which he played from 1990 .

SSV Ulm 1846

In 1996 he was appointed to the Ulm regional league team. In the previous season, Rösler had already played six times in the first team. From 1996 to 1998 he was used 54 more times, scoring 13 goals. In 1998 he rose to the second division with SSV Ulm . There he scored three goals in 27 games and rose again at the end of the season. In the Bundesliga season 1999/2000 he was used 26 times, but only played twice over the full distance. He was denied a goal in the season that ended with the immediate relegation of SSV Ulm. In the following second division season, Rösler met eight times in 29 games, but could not prevent the SSV from relegating again. In the three years that he was part of the professional squad of SSV Ulm, he was also used five times in the DFB Cup ; he scored one goal.

1860 Munich and RW Oberhausen

After the descent of SSV Ulm, he joined the Bundesliga club TSV 1860 Munich in the summer of 2001 . He played once for Munich in the UI Cup , but did not appear in the league in the following months. In early November he was loaned to the second division Rot-Weiß Oberhausen until the end of the season. There Rösler played 21 times and scored five goals.

Greuther Fuerth

In the summer of 2002 he moved to SpVgg Greuther Fürth , which also played in the 2nd Bundesliga. In his first season in Fürth he scored 13 goals in 32 appearances. Alemannia Aachen

For the 2005/06 season Rösler moved to league competitor Alemannia Aachen . There he was used 32 times and scored eight goals. At the end of the season he was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga for the second time in his career. He was also a regular in the 2006/07 Bundesliga season, which ended with relegation. For Alemannia he scored five goals in 30 first division games. In addition, he played five cup games for Aachen in the two years and scored two goals.

Borussia Monchengladbach

In summer 2007 Rösler moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach , which had just been relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga. In the 2007/08 season he was a top performer and also second captain behind Oliver Neuville . He was used in two cup games and 30 league games and scored nine goals in the 2nd Bundesliga. At the end of the season he was promoted to the Bundesliga for the third time. In the 2008/09 season, however, he lost his regular place. At the beginning of the season he played four Bundesliga games and scored two goals in two DFB Cup games, and in October 2008 he played for the reserve team in the Regionalliga West. At the beginning of November he was deleted from the professional squad by coach Hans Meyer .

Return to TSV 1860 Munich

For the second half of the 2008/09 season he returned to 1860 Munich. In these one and a half years Rösler played 38 league games, in which he scored five goals, and four cup games for TSV 1860. In the summer of 2010, the expiring contract was not extended.

Without association to Fortuna Düsseldorf

After Rösler's attempts to get a contract for the 2010/11 season with a club in the Rhineland failed, he kept fit with the Dutch club Willem II Tilburg , among others . After nine days of trial training at the second division Fortuna Düsseldorf , he finally signed a contract on October 7, 2010 until the end of the season. Rösler, who wanted to sign a follow-up contract with newly promoted Fortuna Düsseldorf, continued his career in Aachen, where he ended it prematurely after only seven games due to a torn cruciate ligament.

After the professional career

In October 2015, Rösler started working as a team manager at Fortuna Düsseldorf .

National team
