The 2009/10 season was the 30th season of the German Chess League . Champion became defending champion OSG Baden-Baden . The SK König Tegel (group north), the Erfurter SK (group east) and the SK Heidelberg-Handschuhsheim (group south) were newly promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga . The SG Porz , master of Group West, renounced the rise, as the runner-up, the SG Bochum 31 . All three newcomers were relegated again, and FC Bayern Munich was fourth from last and was relegated . However, since the top three of the 2nd Bundesliga West waived promotion, the Munich team stayed in the 1st Bundesliga. The highlight of the season was the clash between Baden-Baden (Elo average 2717) and Bremen (Elo average 2679), which ended with a 5: 3 for Bremen. However, since Bremen allowed three draws in the course of the season, including against the penultimate Erfurt, Baden-Baden was able to win the title for the fifth time in a row. The victory of Maria Schöne from Erfurt against Vlastimil Babula was chosen as the best game of the season .

Events

The double rounds were on 17./18. October 2009, 14./15. November 2009, 12./13. December 2009, 5-7 February 2010, 27./28. February 2010, 20./21. March 2010 and 10./11. April 2010, with the fights of the travel partners taking place until February 5th. Any play-offs for the title would have taken place between April 23 and 25, 2010, but that did not happen.

time to think

Since the 2009/10 season, every player has 100 minutes to think about for the first 40 moves, 50 minutes for the next 20 moves and 15 minutes until the end of the game. From the first move on, each player receives a time credit of 30 seconds per move until the end of the game. Draw offers before move 20 are prohibited. Exceptions are draws through three repetitions of positions.
