Publication series Extremism & Democracy
Extremism and Democracy is a series of scientific publications that has been published at irregular intervals since 1992 and is published alongside the yearbook Extremism & Democracy . It was initially published by Bouvier Verlag and has been continued by Nomos Verlag in Baden-Baden since 2001 . The editors are the political scientists Eckhard Jesse from the Technical University of Chemnitz and Uwe Backes from the Technical University of Dresden , who also publish the yearbook.
The series covers a large part of extremism research , namely right-wing extremism ( fascism , National Socialism , racism and ultra-nationalism ), left-wing extremism ( anarchism and communism ) and political-religious fundamentalism . In terms of content, it intersects with comparative dictatorship research .
Several volumes of the Nomos series were submitted as a dissertation at the TU Chemnitz.
