The Sweden tower in Rathener area is a 35 m high rock of sandstone in the Saxon Switzerland near the spa town of Rathen and bastion . From the Bastei parking lot, head towards Schwedenlöcher and shortly before a narrow gorge opens, you will find the Swedish Tower on the right. Due to its location in the Saxon Switzerland climbing area , the free-standing rock is used for climbing. There are currently 14 different routes on the rock. At the tower the first path with the difficulty “Xb” of the mountains, the path “6. Trial ”, first started by Bernd Arnold in 1983. The Schwedenturm was first climbed in 1905 by Rudolf Fehrmann and his brother Arymund.
