Sean Fischer (born September 21, 1985 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) is a German - Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Hannover Scorpions in the ice hockey league since 2017 .
Career
Sean Fischer began his career as a hockey player in the 2004/05 season with the Notre Dame Hounds in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League . He then received a contract with the Eisbären Berlin , with whom he became German champions in the following season , with the striker standing on the ice in 17 games for the capital city, in which he remained free of points and punishment. The 2006/07 season began the left shooter with the Starbulls Rosenheim in the major league , but left the team during the season to play for Mount Royal College . In 2010 he came back to Germany and played two seasons for EHC Erfurt in the Oberliga Ost. In 2012 he was voted best player in the major league by the specialist ice hockey news magazine . For Fischer, the two seasons in Erfurt were followed by three seasons with the Lausitzer Füchsen , the first in the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey , the following two in the newly founded DEL2 . For the 2015/16 season he switched to league rivals SC Riessersee , where his father Ron Fischer was also active in the mid-1980s.
Fischer's father Ron Fischer played for several years in the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League and the highest German ice hockey leagues. His brother Alex Fischer is also a hockey player.
