Localization of Tyrol in Austria

The Patscherkofel transmitter is a group of transmitters on the top of the Patscherkofel in the Tux Alps near Innsbruck .

The transmission tower is a 50 meter high, free-standing steel lattice tower of an unusual design, which was built from 1954 to 1958 and on the top of which a GRP antenna cylinder protrudes to a height of 67 meters. In addition to the main broadcasting system, which is operated by a subsidiary of ORF , ORS GmbH , there are systems from Telekom Austria and other operators, such as Feratel (weather panorama radio links), TETRA radio services, aviation radio channels at Innsbruck Airport and other analog BOS radio services .

To the north-west of this is the Innsbruck Radar from Austro Control for Innsbruck Airport.

The internal name of the ORS transmission system is "INNSBRUCK1".
