Shane West (* 10. June 1978 in Baton Rouge , Louisiana as Shannon Bruce Snaith ) is an American actor and musician .

Career

West aspired to an acting career at the age of 15. He had his first major role from 1999 to 2002 in the family series Again with Feeling , and from 2004 he played the role of the assistant doctor in the hospital series Emergency Room. Ray Barnett . West had his last regular appearance as Ray Barnett in the last episode of the 13th season of Emergency Room , after which he dropped out of the television series. However, he had a guest appearance in episode 5 of the final 15th season.

In addition to acting, Shane, who comes from a musical family, writes songs for his band Jonny Was , in which he sings and also plays the guitar. Since 2005 West has also been on the road as the singer of the punk band The Germs . He became part of the band when he played the late Darby Crash in the film What We Do Is Secret , which deals with the band's history, so convincingly that guitarist Pat Smear offered him to join the band in real life.
