Mongolian chess
The Mongolian Chess (Mongolian: шатар Shatar or Shitar ᠮᠣᠩᠭᠣᠯ ᠰᠢᠲᠠᠷᠠ; Chinese 蒙古族象棋 , Pinyin Mengguzu xiangqi ) is a popular board game of the Mongols . It is played on an 8 × 8 board. There is also a rarer variant called Hiashatar (хиашатар), which is played on a 10 × 10 board.

Shatar in China
Mongolian chess from the Alxa League of Inner Mongolia is on the list of the intangible cultural heritage of the People's Republic of China (792). However, the shape, rules and movements of moves are much more like international chess than Chinese xiangqi .
