Shelly Leonor Martínez (born February 9, 1980 in Chino , California ) is a Mexican - American model , actress , wrestler and valet .

Life

Beginnings

Martínez started her wrestling career in December 2000 when she entered the US independent scene under the ring name Desire . Mainly she was signed in the Southern California area.

In July 2002, the Promotion Empire Wrestling Federation (EWF) decided to involve Martínez in the title event for the league's tag team title and brought them together with Threat .

World Wrestling Entertainment

In April 2005 Martínez signed a sponsorship agreement with World Wrestling Entertainment and she made her debut with the ring name Shelly at the then WWE Development League Ohio Valley Wrestling . There she was storyline-wise the first time as manager used various wrestlers. For example, she was the ring companion of Aaron Stevens , Paul Burchill and Seth Skyfire .

In the summer of 2006, Martínez was taken over by the WWE and used in the then newly formed ECW brand . At first she got the gimmick of a fortune teller and fortune teller. But she was quickly merged with Kevin Thorn and both competed with a vampire gimmick, initially appearing as a vampira . Under the ring name Ariel she entered on December 3, 2006 at the only major event of the ECW brand, which bore the traditional name December to Dismember and was based on a PPV of the former Promotion Extreme Championship Wrestling . Total nonstop action wrestling / independent

As a result, Martínez signed a one-year contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in the summer of 2007 , where she now competed under the ring name Selinas . She was used there both as an active wrestler and as a valet . Among other things, she was the ring companion of the wrestlers Homicide and Hernandez . She then left TNA to shoot a film in Italy.

Since her TNA contract expired in 2008, Martínez has appeared again in the international independent scene as an active wrestler and as a ring companion for Kevin Thorn and currently uses the ring name Shelly Martínez . As Ariel , she won her only title to date, when she defeated Alexxis Nevaeh on March 9, 2008 for the World Women's Championship of Promotion New England Championship Wrestling and was allowed to hold it for a period of 517 days.

From 2010 she competed in Championship Wrestling from Hollywood and Combat Zone Wrestling . Appearances for Women Superstars Uncensored and 2016 One Night Only: Knockouts Knockdown 4 for TNA also followed. In May 2017, she announced her retirement from wrestling.

Film career

Shelly Martinez has appeared in various pin-up , strip , catfight and softcore films and videos. She also starred in various horror films. In 2007, she unsuccessfully participated in the casting show The Search for the Next Elvira on Fox Reality . In 2008 she appeared in the Mötley Crüe video Saints of Los Angeles and in 2011 in the Smashing Pumpkins clip for Owata.
