Shizoe (born January 28, 1978 in Passau ; real name Stefan Dippl ) is a German-speaking rapper and singer .

biography

Shizoe grew up as the son of a pastor in a family of seven in Bavaria. When he was eight years old, his family moved to Berlin-Tempelhof . According to his own statements, he was brought up very strictly and religiously. He discovered music as a child. Before he started as a rapper, he sang in a choir. At the age of 18 he raped as one of two rappers in a crossover band. The band played hip-hop , soul and also techno and consisted of five members, two of whom rapped - one in English and the other, Shizoe, in German. They toured Europe and performed in the USA, but separated after a while because the differences within the group no longer allowed them to continue. Shizoe then decided to record a rap album together with former bandmate Dan. He came into contact with rap before, but at that time he still had problems with rhyming and writing lyrics.

At the age of 19 he finished his Abitur at the Canisius College in Berlin before he did his military service . In 1998 he started studying computer science at the Technical University of Berlin . He interrupted this in 2004 because his work as a practicing software developer and musician made additional studies impossible.

At the time the crossover band split up, he was already friends with the rapper Fler from the Berlin label Aggro Berlin . He got to know him because Fler lived in the same house as Shizoe's girlfriend at the time. However, the two lost sight of each other over time and only saw each other again at an S-Bahn station when Shizoe was working on the akA Berlin album with Dan. Since they were both rapping, they decided to record the song "Schwarz / Weiß" together. Shizoe was also a point of contact for Fler if he had problems at home. Shizoe was co-producer of the album Shizoe and Dan: akA Berlin - From Critical Eyes . AkA are Shizoe and his boss and label colleague Dan. In an interview, Shizoe said that Dan Records wasn't a label in the strict sense of the word, it just served to release the CD.

He is often a background rapper and singer on performances and tours of the rapper Fler. He also supported the rapper Sido (also from the Berlin Aggro-Berlin label) as a background singer at his appearance at the Bundesvision Song Contest . Sido and Shizoe also recorded the song Geblendet vom Licht , which appeared on the single for the song Blinded by the lights by The Streets . The singer and rapper became known to a wider audience through the chorus he sang for Fler's 2006 song We remain standing . The video for the track was shown frequently on the music channel VivaPlus, although it was originally planned as an "underground video".

Shizoe first became a father in 2006. Like B-Tight's daughter, his son can be seen in the video for Sido's second single, A Part of Me from the album Ich . In April 2009 he resumed his studies as a computer scientist and finished this in March 2010 with his thesis "Marker-less Identification of Interactive Devices on Multi-Touch Surfaces". In July 2013 Shizoe released the album A Little Shizoe , which he announced in 2010. It is only available digitally through its website and includes guest posts from Sido, Fler, B-Tight, and Doreen.
