The Algerian seal was introduced in this form in 1976 .

In the middle of this seal is the hand of Fatima , surrounded by three ears of corn. Below that is the symbol of Islam , crescent and star in red . Behind the hand is the Atlas Mountains , behind which the sun rises. To the right and left of the hand are a factory and plants. The seal is surrounded by the state name in Arabic script .
