The Silkeborg Idrætsforening (SIF) ( German Sportverein von Silkeborg ) is a Danish football club in Silkeborg in the Midtjylland region . It is also the only club in the Danish first division to be listed on the stock exchange.
The club rose in 1987 for the first time in the top Danish league, to which he belonged continuously until 2003. Since then, the club has developed into an elevator team that had to relegate to the Danish second division for the sixth time since 2003.
Sporting successes
championship
In 1994 the SIF won the Danish championship for the first time and so far only . In 1998 the club was runner-up. Since the rise, SIF has always occupied a single-digit place in the table, with the exception of the year of decline in 2003.
Cup
The SIF won against AB Copenhagen in 2001 with a 4-1 victory in the Danish Cup .
