Silviu Lung Jr. (born June 4, 1989 in Craiova ) is a Romanian football player . The goalkeeper has been under contract with Kayserispor in the Turkish Süper Lig since summer 2017 .

Career

society

Lung was promoted to the first team of his home club FC Universitatea Craiova at the age of 15, but initially did not get a chance there. He only made his debut on April 12, 2008 against Oțelul Galați in League 1 . Also in the 2008/09 season , Lung had to be satisfied with the role of Mircea Bornescu's deputy . In addition to the move Bornescu to Rapid Bucharest in the summer of 2009, he rose to the goalkeeper and secured his club in the 2009/10 season the league. At the end of the 2010/11 season he could no longer avoid relegation. He then left Universitatea Craiova and moved to league rivals Astra Ploieşti . There he was able to finish the 2013/14 season as runner-up behind Steaua Bucharest and win the Romanian Cup . In the goal of Astra, he took turns with Dănuț Coman , having been the undisputed number one in the previous two years, which he was again in 2014.

For the 2017/18 season he was signed by the first division club Kayserispor .

National team

Lung has played three games for the Romanian national soccer team so far . He made his debut on June 5, 2010 in the friendly against Honduras . Since then he has belonged with Cristian Bălgrădean , Costel Pantilimon and Ciprian Tătăruşanu to the circle of goalkeepers of national coaches Victor Pițurcă and Anghel Iordănescu . On May 12, 2016, although he had not played an international match for two years, he was nominated for the provisional EM squad with 28 players and then also considered for the final squad. As a second substitute goalkeeper, he was not used in the three group games after which the team was eliminated.
