Simon Pierro (born October 2, 1978 in Ettlingen ) is a German magician , moderator and speaker , internationally known as "the iPad magician".

Life

Pierro, who grew up in Waldbronn and now lives in Munich , said he discovered his passion for magic at the age of 15 when he was cheated out of $ 20 while playing a shell game in New York City and his sister wrote a book about magic to him - and gave card tricks.

Pierro's presentations contain modern elements of pop culture and are far removed from the cliché of the “magician with tailcoat and top hat”. He was u. a. German champion and vice world champion of FISM . In 2004 he was presented with the Siegfried & Roy Award in Las Vegas .

Shortly after completing his degree in industrial engineering in 2004 at the University of Karlsruhe , Pierro was discovered by Frank Elstner in the program “People of the Week” for the Saturday evening format “Do you understand fun?”, In which he received his own section as a magical decoy and up played his magic pranks in over twenty episodes today. In addition to other TV appearances for ARD , ZDF , RTL and ProSieben , he also acts as a consultant behind the camera and, among other things, developed an illusion for Heidi Klum'sGermany's Next Top Model ”.

Since 2008 he has devoted himself increasingly to digital magic, a combination of magic and technical innovations. His demonstrations on his YouTube channel reached over 50 million viewers and was the first German magician to be invited to present his tricks in an Apple Store.

In February 2015 he appeared on the US talk show The Ellen DeGeneres Show . The video has been viewed over 20 million times.
