Smith & Foulkes
Smith & Foulkes is a British directing and animation duo . It consists of Alan Smith (* 1970) and Adam Foulkes (* 1967).
Life
Adam Foulkes studied animation at UCA Farnham until 1995 and received a scholarship to the Royal College of Art , where he met Alan Smith. From then on, both formed a creative duo. They joined the animation studio Nexus in London in 1997, where they have been working together ever since. They created commercials, including commercials for Coca-Cola . In 2006, they received numerous awards for the Honda commercial Grrr - no other commercial in the world received more awards between 1999 and 2008.
Together, Smith & Foulkes directed the short animated film This Way Up , which was funded by the BBC and Mike Gabriel , among others . For the film about two undertakers, they received an Oscar nomination in the category Best Animated Short Film in 2009 . Alan Smith and Adam Foulkes live and work in London.
