Sophia Görlich (born December 21, 1998 ) is a German ski jumper .

Career

Sophia Görlich, who grew up in Hasenthal in the Thuringian district of Sonneberg , started ski jumping in 2005 at the age of six with her twin sister Luisa Görlich at WSV 08 Lauscha . On the recommendation of her youth coach Jens Greiner-Hiero , she learns and trains at the Oberhof sports high school.

After numerous good placements in the Alpine Cup, she has been competing in the Continental Cup since summer 2015 and is the C-squad of the national team.

During the Continental Cup in Notodden, Norway on December 11, 2015, Sophia Görlich and Ulrike Gräßler (VSC Klingenthal) fell seriously and sustained considerable injuries. Görlich tore the anterior cruciate ligament of the right leg and injured the inner and outer meniscus, the outer ligaments and a cartilage compression on the thigh bone.

Luisa's second sister Emilia is also a junior ski jumper in Lauscha. Pauline Heßler also belongs to the training group of the three sisters .
