The Zurich City Police (Stapo Zurich for short) is the third largest police force in Switzerland with around 2,100 employees after the Zurich cantonal police and the Bern cantonal police . The Zurich City Police is headed by the police commander. The departments named below are subordinate to the commanding officer. Together with the department heads, the commander forms the management of the Zurich City Police. Since the reorganization in 2015 (MOVE project), the Zurich City Police has eight main departments of different sizes, which are divided into subdivisions (so-called commissariats, roughly equivalent to German inspections):

Security department

The security department (SIA) ensures the security and parts of the criminal police's basic supply and guarantees public safety and order in the city of Zurich around the clock. The SIA is responsible for problem and cause-oriented and community-based policing such as
