The Stage School Hamburg is a German stage school for dance, singing and acting in Hamburg .

history

It was founded in 1985 in Hamburg and has the status of a state-recognized supplementary school in the sense of a vocational school for performing arts. Actors Volker Ullmann and his wife Manelle were founders of the school, which initially operated under the name of Stage School of Dance and Drama . Later, Kim Moke, Gillian Scalici and John Vernon Baer designed the content of the three-year training, which includes dance, singing and acting. Thomas Gehle has been managing the Stage School alone since August 2012.

Training content

Stage School students receive interdisciplinary training in singing, dance and acting. The exact contents are acting / basic, acting / scene work, acting / monologue work, speaking technique, jazz, ballet, modern, tap dance , singing technique , ensemble, singing repertoire, song interpretation, individual singing, choir, music theory, musical theater history, final project, audition class, hip hop, Musical dance styles, pilates and rock / pop singing, ensemble / staging.

Workshops

The Stage School organizes musical workshops in over 30 cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, in which interested parties can get to know the work of a musical performer. With the appropriate qualifications, the workshop can replace the entrance examination for training as a stage actor.
