Stefan Baumeister (born April 18, 1993 in Bad Aibling ) is a German snowboarder .

Career

Baumeister has been taking part in the European Cup since 2008. He has won six victories so far and won the parallel ranking in the 2011/12 season . (Status: end of 2019/20 season) He drove his first World Cup race in February 2010 in Sudelfeld , which he finished in 33rd place in the parallel giant slalom and thus also won his first World Cup points. At the Snowboard World Championships 2013 in Stoneham , he finished 35th in the parallel giant slalom and 23rd in the parallel slalom. In March 2013 he won bronze in the parallel giant slalom and gold in the parallel slalom at the Junior World Championships in Erzurum . At the German championships in 2013 he won gold in the parallel slalom and parallel giant slalom. His best position to date in a World Cup race was achieved in January 2014 in Bad Gastein with eighth place in the parallel slalom. At his first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014 , he took 20th place in the parallel giant slalom and 14th place in the parallel slalom. The following year he finished 35th in the parallel giant slalom and 15th in the parallel slalom at the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg . In the 2016/17 season, he was among the top ten three times in nine World Cup appearances. He achieved third place in the parallel giant slalom in Bansko and won his first World Cup victory in the parallel slalom in Winterberg . At the season highlight of the 2017 Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada , he finished 23rd in the parallel giant slalom and eleventh in the parallel slalom. He finished the season in eleventh place in the parallel giant slalom world cup, in seventh place in the parallel world cup and in second place in the parallel slalom world cup. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he finished sixth in the parallel giant slalom. In March 2018, he took his second World Cup victory in the parallel giant slalom in Kayseri .

In the 2018/19 season, Baumeister won the Parallel Slalom World Cup with five top ten placements. He also finished seventh in the Parallel World Cup and took third place in the parallel giant slalom in the Secret Garden Skiresort , second place in Winterberg and first place in Bad Gastein in the parallel slalom . At the season highlight, the Snowboard World Championships 2019 in Park City , he won bronze medals in both the parallel slalom and the parallel giant slalom. In the following season he achieved two third places and one second place, seventh place in the parallel giant slalom world cup, third place in the parallel slalom world cup and second place in the parallel world cup. He also won the team competition in Bad Gastein and Piancavallo together with Ramona Theresia Hofmeister .
