Stefan Korioth

Stefan Korioth (born June 12, 1960 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

Korioth studied law in Mannheim , Heidelberg and Bonn , completed his legal clerkship in Hamburg and passed the second state examination in 1990. In the same year he was at the University of Bonn with a thesis supervised by Bernhard Schlink on the subject of integration and the federal state. A contribution to the state and constitutional theory of Rudolf Smends to the Dr. jur. PhD. From 1990 to 1996 Korioth worked as a research assistant to Klaus Schlaich at the University of Bonn; in February 1996 habilitation he did with the theme The revenue sharing between federal and state governments . From 1996 to 2000 he was Professor of Public Law , Constitutional History and Political Science at the University of Greifswald . Since 2000 he has held a chair for public law, in particular church law and German constitutional and administrative law at the University of Munich .

Korioth's research focuses on financial and religious constitutional law, constitutional procedural law and constitutional history. He is the author of textbooks on the Federal Constitutional Court, state organization law and state church law and regularly works as an expert and litigator, most recently before the Federal Constitutional Court in proceedings on auditing rights of the Federal Court of Auditors and on the scope and limits of the right of members of the Bundestag to ask questions and be informed.
