Stephan Maninger

Stephan Maninger (* 1967 ) is a German political scientist , journalist and non-fiction author.

Life

Maninger grew up in South Africa and studied in Johannesburg; he has a doctorate in political science. In 1995 he took part in the International Summer School for National Security at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . He was also a member of the Royal United Services Institute for Defense Policy (RUSI) in London.

Maninger worked as a journalist in Lesotho, Botswana, Swaziland, Namibia and Angola. He writes for various English and German language journals and yearbooks, including the Austrian Military Journal , the African Security Review and the Public Security Yearbook . Contributions also appeared in the texts of the working groups on security policy at universities (science & security). He also published in the history magazine Damals .

Among other things, he was a lecturer at the Historical Institute of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and at the Federal Police Department of the Federal University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Lübeck as well as a lecturer at the Federal Police Academy .
