Stere Adamache (born August 17, 1941 in Galați ; † July 9, 1978 ) was a Romanian football player . He was in 253 games of the highest Romanian soccer league, Divizia A , in goal and took part in the 1970 World Cup.

Career

Stere Adamache began his career in his hometown Galați in the second highest Romanian football league, Divizia B , at Dinamo Galați . As a youth national player, he moved to the newly founded club Viitorul Bucharest in 1962 , which was allowed to start with the squad of the youth national team in Divizia A. When this team was dissolved in the winter break of 1962/63 , Adamache moved to league rivals Steagul roşu Braşov . In Brașov he was then used in just over half of the games. After the club initially moved in the upper half of the table and had participated in the trade fair cup a few times , he rose in 1968 to Divizia B.

Brașov managed to get promoted again immediately and Adamache became the undisputed goalkeeper this season. This led to the fact that in 1970 he was even appointed to the national team by national coach Angelo Niculescu . After a few strong years at the beginning of the 1970s, it was consistently less used. After relegated to Divizia B in 1975, he ended his career in 1977.

National team

Adamache played a total of 7 games for the Romanian national soccer team . He made his debut against France on April 28, 1970 at the age of 28 . During the Soccer World Cup in Mexico in 1970 , national coach Angelo Niculescu surprisingly pulled him before the previous goalkeeper Necula Răducanu , who was only substituted in for Adamache in the third game. After the World Cup, Răducanu got his regular place back.
