Sun Come Up is a short - documentary by Jennifer Redfearn from the year 2010. The film deals with the effect of global warming on the basis of the Carteret Islands in Papua New Guinea . The only max. Islands lying 1.5 m above sea level will have disappeared for a short time due to its rise. The population living there is gradually being relocated to the neighboring islands.
The film premiered on April 8, 2010 at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival . In 2011 , the film received an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary Short , but it fell behind Strangers No More . The film was also shown in 2010 at the Polish camera festival Camerimage and received a nomination for the Pare Lorenz Award of the International Documentary Association .
