Suomen Olympic Committee
The Suomen Olympiakomitea (SOK, Swedish Finlands Olympiska Kommitté ) is the National Olympic Committee of Finland and is responsible for representing the country at the IOC . The committee is a non-profit organization . His tasks include raising funds that enable Finnish athletes to be sent to the Olympic Games.
The committee was founded on December 2, 1907 in Helsinki and was accepted as a member of the IOC that same year at the ninth IOC session in The Hague , the Netherlands . Reinhold Felix von Willebrand, who held the office from 1907 to 1919, became the first president. Roger Talermo has been President of the Committee since 2004. General Secretary is Jouko Purontakanen.
