The 2002 Superbike World Championship season was the 15th in the history of the FIM - Superbike World Championship . 26 races were held at 13 events.

Distribution of points

The world champion will be the driver or manufacturer who has accumulated the most points in the world championship by the end of the season. When distributing points, the placements are taken into account in the overall result of the respective race. The top fifteen drivers in each race receive points according to the following scheme:

useful information

  • In Imola, the first run was canceled after eleven laps, restarted later and both parts counted together.
  • After the season, Honda withdrew from the world championship, world champion Colin Edwards was left without a team and finally switched to the MotoGP class, where he competed for Aprilia .
