useful information
- All pilots competed on Pirelli uniform tires.
- The only change in the calendar was the race in Losail ( Qatar ) no longer taking place.
- In the 2010 season, a number of new drivers started in the World Championship. The most prominent newcomers were the Briton James Toseland , Superbike World Champion 2004 and 2007 and the Australian Supersport World Champion from 2003 Chris Vermeulen , who switched from the MotoGP class. The 2009 Supersport World Champion , Cal Crutchlow from Great Britain, was promoted to the Superbike World Championship.
- For the 2010 season, the Italian Davide Tardozzi , who was team boss of the Ducati factory team for eleven years , also switched to the BMW factory team as team manager.
- Originally, the Japanese Yoshimura Suzuki team wanted to compete in the Netherlands with wild cards for their pilots Yukio Kagayama and Daisaku Sakai . However, it had to cancel the launch at short notice due to the closure of much of European airspace after the eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano in Iceland .
