Sven Winter (born June 21, 1998 ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career hall

Winter played indoor volleyball in his home country at FT 1844 Freiburg , with whom he was several times South German youth champion and took part in German youth championships. In 2013/14 he had his first appearances in the Freiburg second division team. With the U18 selection of Baden-Württemberg, he won the national cup in 2014 in Biedenkopf, Hesse . From 2014 to 2016 the universal player played for the second division club VYS Friedrichshafen . Winter was also active in the junior national team.

Career Beach

Winter has also been active in beach volleyball since 2012. With Oliver Hein he won the German U17 championship in 2013 and was third in the German U18 championship in 2014. At the side of Niklas Stooß , Winter 2014 won the U17 national cup and became German U17 champion. With Julius Thole he became German U19 champion in Kiel in 2014 and U18 European champion in Kristiansand . In 2015 Thole / Winter defended the German U19 championship title. With Milan Sievers reached the ninth place in the U18 European Championship in Riga in winter 2015 . In 2016 Sievers / Winter became German U19 champions in Kiel and took fifth place at the U19 World Championships in Larnaka . At the side of Julius Thole, Winter finished fifth at the U20 European Championships in 2016 in Antalya . Together with Niklas Rudolf he won the CEV Satellite tournament in Dijon . In 2017, Winter had his first appearance on the FIVB World Tour alongside Tim Holler at the 3-Star Tournament in Kisch .

With Alexander Walkenhorst , he took third place at the Smart Super Cup in Münster in May . Winter injured his shoulder at the Smart Beach Cup in Nuremberg and was out for the rest of the season after an operation. In 2018, Walkenhorst / Winter started on the World Tour (third place in Kisch) and on the national Techniker Beach Tour (finalist in Nuremberg and in Kühlungsborn). In the German championship they reached fifth place. On the Techniker Beach Tour 2019 , Winter won the tournament in Dresden with Lars Lückemeier after Walkenhorst was canceled due to a wrist injury. Jonathan Erdmann then became Winters' temporary partner for the rest of the season. Equipped with a wildcard, the interim duo started at the World Cup in Hamburg . They also took part in some tournaments on the FIVB World Tour and in almost all other tournaments on the Techniker Beach Tour, where they came second in Kühlungsborn. At the tournament in Zinnowitz , however, Winter competed with Jefferson Santos Pereira and finished second. At the end of the season, Winter / Erdmann became German runners-up in Timmendorfer Strand .

After Walkenhorst's recovery, Winter separated from Erdmann again and decided to continue working with Walkenhorst. In November 2019 Walkenhorst / Winter achieved fourth place at the FIVB 4-star tournament in Chetumal . In June / July they took part in the first edition of the Beach League and lost to Dirk Westphal and Max Betzien in the final . At the German championship 2020 they are among the eight seeded teams.
