occupation

Land at this time is a television film from the crime series Tatort . The report produced by Hessischer Rundfunk is the 1006th Tatort episode and was first broadcast on January 8, 2017 on Erste and SRF 1 . The Frankfurt investigator duo Janneke and Brix are investigating their fifth case.

action

The body of the trainee Melanie Elvering was found in a burned-out hairdressing salon late in the evening. "Kill all Nazis" was written on the floor in front of the shop. Rosi Grüneklee, the owner of the salon, cannot explain why the girl was there so late. It is unclear whether the attack was aimed at the store or Melanie. Anna Janneke and Paul Brix determine that Melanie had a violent argument with an African drug dealer shortly before the alleged arson attack. Janneke and Brix manage to arrest the Senegalese refugee Aliou near the salon . Then it turns out, however, that it was not Melanie, but her colleague Vera who had fought the argument.

When Alious's fingerprint is found on the incendiary bottle, the case seems clear. But Janneke in particular is still skeptical. When checking the surroundings, it turns out that Vera, Vera's landlady Juliane Kronfels and Margaux Brettner, who runs a kiosk opposite the crime scene, are apparently friends and sing together in a choir. You belong to a nationalist cultural racist group . Vera also regularly visits a club that is mainly frequented by right-wing extremists. Aliou is relieved by the images of a surveillance camera and is finally released from prison.

Janneke and Brix are now following the trail that leads to Vera and her friends. They find out that Vera was coerced by Juliane Kronfels and Margaux Brettner to set fire to the hairdressing salon, not knowing that her good friend Melanie was in the salon at that moment. Because Vera no longer wants to submit to the plans and machinations of the women, she carries out a second arson attack, this time on the kiosk of Margaux Brettner's uncle. She dies when she falls into the Main on the banks of the Main and drowns. Since Kronfels and Brettner cannot be clearly proven that they are complicit in the arson at the hairdressing salon, the investigation into the case is suspended for the time being. Meanwhile, Kronfels unerringly receives Vera's new tenant, who is possibly an undercover investigator.

Reviews

"In general: In the end, the plot, in which three scriptwriters were involved [...], remains a shambles. And as if those responsible were afraid of their own courage to leave the viewer alone in the confused language, the dramatization and interpretation screw is simply turned again. One was probably concerned that the simpler viewers would not understand who the good guys and who the bad guys are. Wouldn't have been necessary. As a ricochet thriller in ' Nafri ' Germany, this 'crime scene' has its effect either way. "

“That the cloudy broth is not just dripping down in the skull pans of shaved piles of cells: This not very new insight is laboriously danced around in" Land at this time ". What ruined the young women, however, remains in the dark and can hardly be resolved because the film by director Markus Imboden (and a whole series of authors) is lost in peculiarities and puns. While everything is in ruins, one reads poems in the police station. [...] And of course the new boss will present it at the expected end of this hopeless chaos . "
