Mord auf Raten is an Austrian television crime novel by and with Fritz Eckhardt from 1980, directed by Georg Lhotsky . It was created as the 117th episode of the crime series Tatort and was the tenth crime scene case for Marek. This time Marek is dealing with the murder of a perfume salesman.

action

The perfume salesman Janousek is murdered, Marek and Wirz conduct interviews with the neighbors, which do not help the officers. Shortly afterwards they drive to an inn where a fight had previously taken place, a guest of the restaurant runs away from the officials, but loses his jacket, in which there are various stolen wallets. The next morning it turns out that the murder victim Janousek was poisoned, his wife cannot explain who could have administered the poison to her husband. The neighbor, Mrs. Spitz, told Marek that there had already been a dispute between the spouses, Mrs. Janousek said that her husband had increased his life insurance without her knowledge. Ms. Spitz, however, says that Ms. Janousek urged her husband to increase his life insurance. His wife was jealous because of her husband's various affairs with younger women. Marek, Wirz and Berntner go to the last of Janousek's customers, Maria Pawel tells Marek that Janousek looked miserable during his visit, Berntner, on the other hand, makes an appointment with Janousek's customer Helga and finds out nothing. Ms. Heller, who was questioned by Wirz, meets excitedly with a friend of her imprisoned husband and asks him if he knows anything about the background of Janousek's relationship with her husband, who threw Janousek out of the Hellers when he visited the Hellers.

While Berntner is enjoying his affair with the witness Helga, Mrs. Pawel's sub-tenants, Hansen and Katwitz get into an argument, Hansen beats the old man because he had secretly talked to Marek. Meanwhile, Wirz is shadowing Ms. Janousek and follows her into a casino, where she is gambling. An anonymous caller named Fuchs contacts Marek the next day and wants to meet with him, he knows who murdered Janousek and would like to share his knowledge with Marek, but Fuchs is observed during the phone call. Berntner reports his relationship with the witness to Marek shortly afterwards, but Marek reacts mildly and entrusts Wirz with the renewed questioning of Helga. Marek meets with Fuchs, but is knocked down the moment Fuchs tries to name the murderer, Fuchs is murdered by the stranger. Wirz and Berntner visit Ms. Janousek again and speak to her about her high losses in the casino and that her husband's life insurance was much higher than she stated. Her husband also worked as a pimp, Wirz accuses her of blackmailing her husband for his sideline activities and finally murdering her and arrests her for the time being. Wirz sees the case as resolved, but Marek does not like that Mrs. Janousek did not confess. Shortly afterwards, however, Ms. Janousek was released for lack of evidence.

Wirz has to confess to Marek that he also kissed Helga, Marek finally sends a female colleague to question the witness. Wirz and Marek go to the theater director Marno, who reported to the police because the murdered fox was one of his actors. Fuchs was not particularly popular among his colleagues, Marek discovers Maria Pawel among the employees of the theater. After the performance, Maria and her colleagues always go to the tavern, which Janousek used to frequent, she claims that she never met him there. She makes it clear to the officers that she had no motive for murdering Fuchs or Janousek. The next day, Marek visits the butcher Ferdinand Kindler, one of the victims of the pickpocket. He had nude photos of Maria Pawel in his wallet. He tells Marek that he has a relationship with her, he also considered her as the sole heir in his will. The last time he was with her, he met Maria Janousek, who said that she didn't end well. Then Marek seeks out Maria, who has just been left by her younger lover Hansen. Marek accuses her of killing Fuchs because, as her colleague, he knew that she was responsible for Janousek's death. Janousek's death had not been intended by Maria, she wanted to poison Kindler that day in order to get the money, but this was delayed so that the perfume salesman Janousek, who visited her that day, accidentally drank the poison. Maria was then no longer able to warn Janousek due to the arrival of Kindler and let him die so that her attempted murder of Kindler would not be known. She would have needed Kindler's money to keep her lover Hansen. Marek arrests Maria for two murders.
