Therese Neudorfer

Therese Neudorfer (* December 4, 1920 as Therese Schröffl in Linz ; † May 10, 1990 in Vöcklabruck ) was an Austrian kindergarten teacher and politician ( SPÖ ). From 1967 to 1985 she was a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag .

Life

Therese Neudorfer attended the secondary school and the women's high school in Linz. In 1939 she passed the Matura and the kindergarten teacher examination. Between 1942 and 1943 she attended a seminar for business teachers in Innsbruck . Neudorfer initially worked as a kindergarten teacher and kindergarten director. From 1955 she was the head of the vocational preschool "Jugend am Werk" in Lenzing , and from 1962 to 1980 she was the manager of a retirement home in Lenzing.

Neudorfer married a primary school director in 1940; the couple had three daughters and one son. The marriage ended in divorce in 1960.

politics

Neudorfer was a councilor in Lenzing from 1961 and on the council from 1967. Also in 1967 she was elected to the Upper Austrian Landtag, to which she belonged until 1985 and in which she chaired the Committee for Public Welfare. The main focus of her political work was on housing subsidies, home nursing, women's issues and the problems of elderly and disabled people. In addition, she was a member of the regional party executive of the SPÖ Upper Austria. From 1986 Neudorfer was chairman of the Vöcklabruck pensioners 'association and a member of the state and federal board of the pensioners' association.
