Thomas Lee Wright

Thomas Lee Wright (* 20th century in Moscow , Idaho ) is an American film producer , film director , screenwriter and documentary filmmaker .

Career

Wright's film career began in 1990 with the action film Blue Heat by John Mackenzie , for which he co-wrote the script. The following year, he and Barry Michael Cooper developed the story and script for the gangster film New Jack City by Mario van Peebles , in which Wesley Snipes as Nino Brown and Ice-T as Scotty Appleton can be seen in the lead roles.

He made his directorial debut in 1993 with the documentary Eight-Tray Gangster: The Making of a Crip . Thomas Lee Wright also produced documentaries for the Discovery Channel , among other things , as well as feature films such as Battle in Seattle by Stuart Townsend with Charlize Theron , Woody Harrelson , Ray Liotta and Michelle Rodríguez .

The producer was also on the documentary short film Edith + Eddie by Laura Checkoway , for which both received an Oscar nomination in the category “ Best Documentary Short ” at the 2018 Academy Awards . However, Frank Stiefel received the award for his contribution Heaven Is a Traffic Jam on the 405 . Wright also received the IDA Documentary Award for this film from the International Documentary Association .
