action

Luna is bored of her uneventful daily routine as a security employee in a parking garage. However, the call due to a customer complaint leads to her finding out how the night watchman Diego is killing his monotonous working hours: In some clips in the surveillance video, he can be seen dancing in the parking lot. Luna decides to do the same. She notes the time period for him on the video in which she can be seen dancing. The couple develop a relationship by communicating through the garage surveillance video footage. As the film progresses, the two of them dance more and more courageously.

background

The short film was made in cooperation with the film school in Reus . It is the second Spanish film to have won a Palme d'Or, after Luis Buñuel's Viridiana from 1961 .

The plot of "Timecode" is based on a personal anecdote made by director Juanjo Giménez when he was working in the finance department of a company. One day a week he had less work. During this time he wrote stories on his work computer. One of his colleagues discovered it and used it against him.
