Tobias Brand (born July 9, 1998 in Mainz ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player . The outside attacker has been playing in the hall since 2019 for the SWD Powervolleys Düren , with which he reached the cup final in 2020. In the sand he forms a duo with Jonas Reinhardt , with whom he played a final of the Techniker Beach Tour in 2019 .

Career hall

Brand began his career at SG UNS Rheinhessen , a syndicate from Undenheim , Nieder-Olm and Schornsheim . In the 2016/17 season, the outside attacker also played for the second division TGM Mainz-Gonsenheim with a double right to play. Then he moved permanently to Mainz. With the club he was first seventh in the second division and then third in the 2018/19 season. In 2019, Brand was signed by the Bundesliga club SWD Powervolleys Düren . In the DVV-Pokal 2019/20 he reached the final with the SWD Powervolleys, which the team lost to the Berlin Recycling Volleys . When the Bundesliga season was canceled shortly before the playoffs, Düren was in sixth place in the table. Brand will also play for Düren in the 2020/21 season.

Career Beach

From 2013 to 2016 Brand played various junior championships with Jonas Reinhardt and Hendrik Diwersy . He was national champion three times in the U18 and U19. In 2017 he competed in tournaments with various partners and played for the first time in the Smart Beach Tour , the highest German tournament series. Since July 2017 he has formed a permanent duo with Reinhardt. Brand / Reinhardt survived qualification for the first time at the Techniker Beach Tour 2018 in Düsseldorf. Several ninth places followed later. At the end of the year in Zinnowitz, Brand competed with Sven Winter as an exception and came in fifth. The best result for Brand / Reinhardt on the Techniker Beach Tour 2019 was a second place in Sankt Peter-Ording .
