The Traweng is a 1981 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Dead Mountains in Styria on the northern edge of the Tauplitzalm . The mountain forms a ridge with several peaks with a large north face that drops into the Langkar. To the west the mountain falls to the Öderntörl. To the east of Traweng is on the saddle of Steirertors with the Sturzhahn connected. The southern flank, interspersed with crags , drops to the Tauplitzalm. There is a summit cross at the summit . The name is probably derived from Tra = land accessible for cattle and Weng = natural grass area.
Ascent
Signposted route 72 from the Grazer Hütte to the central summit and over the ridge to the west summit. The summit can also be reached via the "Gamsblick" via ferrata ( level of difficulty C), which leads over the steep eastern flank of the Traweng.
