Trey Gunn (born December 13, 1960 in Texas , USA ) is a bassist , Chapman stick and Warr guitar player and was best known for his participation in the progressive rock band King Crimson from 1994 to 2003.

Life

Trey Gunn started playing the piano at the age of 7 . His musical interest expanded to include various instruments such as electric bass, acoustic and electric guitar and keyboards. After graduating in classical composition from the University of Oregon , he began his professional career in New York . From 1992 he worked with David Sylvian and Robert Fripp , with whom he released two studio albums and toured the United States, Europe and Japan. During this time he also recorded his first solo album. In 1994 he became a member of King Crimson.

In addition to his career with the Trey Gunn Band , he has worked with many other artists, such as guitarist Vernon Reid from Living Color , Brian Eno , KTU , John Paul Jones , Eric Johnson and Michael Brook . Gunn is involved in The Security Project , which performs cover versions of Peter Gabriel's music.
