economy

Agriculture and forestry as well as the wood processing industry are the most important economic sectors in the municipality. Wood was still rafted on the Trysilelva until the early 1990s . Since the area around Trysil offers excellent winter sports conditions, tourism has increasingly developed into an important economic factor. In winter, the area offers 66 slopes and 31 lifts, making it Norway's largest ski area. Trysil is also the municipality with the highest elk population in Norway.
