Mostar State University ( Sveučilište u Mostaru ) is an institution in Mostar that teaches the Croatian language . It is located in the center of the Rondo district and has existed since 1977. During the academic year 1992/93, Croatian was adopted as the official language and the current name.

In the academic year 1994/95, another university was founded in the eastern part of Mostar with the Bosnian language, which took the former name of Džemal Bijedić . Both universities describe themselves as the legal successors of the original university, which have been competing for reputation and student numbers since the introduction of the Bologna rules.


There are eleven faculties where study programs for bachelor's and master's degrees are offered in accordance with the Bologna rules .
