Valérie Kaprisky (actually Valérie Chérès ; born August 19, 1962 in Neuilly-sur-Seine near Paris ) is a French actress .

Life

The Polish-born Valérie Kaprisky ( Kaprisky ( Polish : Kasprzycka) is the maiden name of her mother) grew up in Cannes and was discovered there at the film festival . She worked as a photo model and received her first film roles.

Initially joined Kaprisky mainly in adult films before in the 1983 United States went to there on the side of Richard Geres her debut as a lead actress in the film Breathless to give a remake of the French film Breathless . Since the film received bad reviews at the time, Valérie Kaprisky returned to France in 1984, where she worked for film and television.

In Germany she became through the film Super-Biester! (also with Désirée Nosbusch ) known. She gained greater fame in 1984 for her role in the film The Public Wife by Andrzej Frauuławski . For this role she was nominated for the César the following year . Later she was unable to build on these early international successes.

In the foreword to Druuna X , the comic artist Paolo Eleuteri Serpieri wrote that Valérie Kaprisky's appearance in the feature film The Public Woman (La Femme publique) inspired him to design his comic figure Druuna .
