history

Until the church is planted

Since today's municipal area is on the border of the Munich gravel plain, early settlement in the southern part is rather unlikely, as arable farming was disadvantageous here compared to the northern part. According to this, Purfing is the oldest place in the municipality, there you can find a settlement from the time between 750 and 600 BC. Bumped.

Vaterstetten was founded by the old Bavarian family of the Fater .

Until 1056 the district of Weißenfeld (Wizzinvelt) was owned by the Roman-German Emperor Heinrich III. as an imperial property. How significant this land must have been for the emperor is shown by the fact that, on his deathbed in 1056, he commissioned his wife to negotiate the property rights.

In the summer of 1800, the Parsdorf Armistice was signed by Major General Franz Joseph von Dietrichstein and General Jean Victor Moreau , which ended with the Battle of Hohenlinden . Shortly afterwards, in 1818, the “Municipality of Parsdorf” was founded as a result of the royal Bavarian regional reform , which replaced the “tax districts” that had existed until then. Parsdorf received the administrative seat of the municipality because of its post office, which was important at the time .

19th to 21st century

The rising population development of the community began with the connection to the construction of the Munich – Rosenheim railway line in 1871.

The Baldham colony (now the Baldham district ) was chosen as the location for the “ Thorak Atelier ” by Hitler's sculptor Josef Thorak before the start of the Second World War . The building erected by Albert Speer between 1938 and 1941 (today Waldstrasse 17) consists of a central structure with a height of 18 meters and a floor area of 700 m². The area is a listed building and is now used by the State Archaeological Collection as a depot.

On July 19, 1944, an American Consolidated B-24 bomber crashed into the forest between Vaterstetten and the neighboring town of Ottendichl.

The present-day municipality of Vaterstetten only came into being with the municipal reform in 1978. Before that, Vaterstetten, together with the present-day districts of Hergolding, Neufarn, Parsdorf, Purfing and Weißenfeld, formed the municipality of Parsdorf. The district of Waldkolonie Pöring was separated from the former municipality of Pöring on May 1, 1978, the districts of Neubaldham and Colony Baldham from the municipality of Zorneding and incorporated into the municipality of Parsdorf. On May 2, 1978, just one day later, the parish was renamed from “Parsdorf” to “Vaterstetten”, as the settlement focus had long been established in the villages of Vaterstetten and Baldham.

Population development

Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 18,268 to 23,422 by 5,154 inhabitants or by 28.2%.

coat of arms

Municipal coat of arms

Description of coat of arms : “Wavy obliquely left divided by silver and blue; above a green sea leaf with a green stem, below a gold post. "

This coat of arms was already the coat of arms of the municipality Parsdorf until 1978. The green lake leaf comes from the coat of arms of the Tegernsee monastery and refers to the fact that it has belonged to the Vaterstetten church since 1186 through Pope Urban III. The stake symbolizes the old streets on which the Neufarn part of the community is located. The place name is to be interpreted as a street intersection. The coat of arms was established with a resolution of the municipal council and the approval of the State Ministry of the Interior . It came into force on March 13, 1969.

traffic

Road traffic

Vaterstetten is on the B 304 , which is called Wasserburger Landstrasse here - just like in Munich-Trudering. The A 99 runs to the west of the community with the Vaterstetten motorway service station and the Haar junction to the B 304. In the north, the A 94 crosses Munich – Passau with the Parsdorf exit. The Munich airport is km on the road about 42nd

railroad

The Munich – Rosenheim railway line runs through the municipality of Vaterstetten south of the town center . The railway line was opened on October 15, 1871, at that time there was no stop within the community. Due to its important role as a long-distance route to the south and south-east, the railway line to Rosenheim was expanded to double tracks as early as 1892. In 1897 the eastern suburban railway network of the city of Munich was expanded, so that a stopping point was set up in the district of Vaterstetten and in the district of Baldham on May 1, 1897 . The route was electrified in 1927, and Vaterstetten station was only connected to Munich and Grafing by simple passenger trains, despite the numerous express trains on the route . Since the start of the Munich S-Bahn network , the Vaterstetten and Baldham stops in Vaterstetten have only been served by S-Bahn trains. Some regional trains in the direction of Rosenheim have not stopped .

Today, the stops are served every 20 minutes by trains on the S6 S-Bahn, which runs from Tutzing via Starnberg, Munich , Vaterstetten, Zorneding , Grafing to Ebersberg (as of December 2016). During rush hour , additional S-Bahn lines run every 20 minutes on the S4 S-Bahn, which runs from Geltendorf via Munich, Vaterstetten, Zorneding to Grafing Bahnhof. This means that there is a 10-minute cycle between Munich and Grafing Bahnhof during rush hour.

The good connection to Munich with the S-Bahn is seen as one of the reasons for the increasing population and property and rental prices since the 1970s.

Local transport

The municipality of Vaterstetten is located in the tariff area of the Munich Transport and Tariff Association (MVV). Six bus routes operate within the municipality and in neighboring towns (as of December 2015). The central transport hubs are the Vaterstetten and Baldham S-Bahn stations. The 451 bus runs in two route variants: As a one-way ring line, it serves the two S-Bahn stations and the districts of Vaterstetten and Baldham every hour from Monday to Friday. In the meantime, a “small ring” north of the Vaterstetten S-Bahn station is driven eleven times a day. The 452 bus runs from the Vaterstetten S-Bahn station via the districts of Weißenfeld, Hergolding and Parsdorf to the Grub S-Bahn station on the Munich – Mühldorf line . The regional bus routes 465 and 466 run from Baldham train station via different parts of Vaterstetten and neighboring towns to Poing , also on the Munich – Mühldorf railway line. The RVO bus route 9410 Munich – Hohenlinden – Haag – Gars serves Parsdorf and Neufarn. Since January 2013 the private bus line X400 ("Parsdorf-Express") has been connecting the Parsdorf industrial park with the Messestadt Ost underground station in Munich-Riem. Line 240 stops within walking distance of the Vaterstetten train station, but runs entirely within the neighboring community of Grasbrunn .

The association has co-founded numerous car sharing providers in the Ebersberg district as a midwife and operates the car sharing specialist forum on the Internet, a community for all operators and founders of car sharing associations.

In the course of time, companies settled primarily in the various industrial areas in the municipality, mainly in the industrial areas in Parsdorf.
