The Veľký Rozsutec is a mountain in Mala Fatra in Slovakia .
location
The mountain is located in the northeast of the Little Fatra on the main ridge. It closes the Vrátna valley to the east.
character
The Veľký Rozsutec consists of dolomite rock . It is characterized by steep, jagged rocks with side ridges that extend far to the north and west. In connection with the altitude, the rock enabled the emergence of species-rich vegetation, with several plant species endemic to Slovakia also occur.
Ascent
The summit - which allows an unobstructed panoramic view in all directions - can be reached on a red marked path both from the south and from the north; the northern route is a little less steep.

Veľký Rozsutec is located in the Malá Fatra National Park. In addition, the mountain and its surroundings have been placed under special protection as a national nature reserve (Národná prírodná rezervácia, NPR) since 1967 on an area of 841.55 hectares. From October to June, climbing the summit is prohibited for reasons of nature conservation.
