Viktor Bibl

Viktor Bibl (born October 20, 1870 in Vienna , † July 15, 1947 in Attersee am Attersee ) was an Austrian historian.

Life

Viktor Bibl, son of the musician Rudolf Bibl , studied at the University of Vienna history . In 1891 he joined the pre-association of the Corps Symposion. In 1893 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD. From 1895 to 1897 he was a member of the Institute for Austrian Historical Research. In 1905 he became a private lecturer at the University of Vienna, in 1913 associate professor and in 1926 full professor for general history of modern times . In his historical research he worked on the Reformation and Counter-Reformation as well as the Vormärz in Lower Austria, among other things .
