Vilho Tuulos ( Vilho Immanuel Tuulos ; born March 26, 1895 in Tampere , † September 2, 1967 ibid) was a Finnish athlete .

On July 20, 1919, he set a European record in the triple jump with 15.30 meters in Tampere , and on July 6, 1923 he increased it in Borås to 15.48 meters. This record was only exceeded by one centimeter in 1939 by the Norwegian Kaare Strom .

At the Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920 Tuulos won the triple jump competition with 14.50 meters. He had a lead of two centimeters on the Swede Folke Jansson . At the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924, Tuulos was fourth in the long jump with 7.07 meters . In the triple jump he won bronze with 15.37 meters.

Four years later, at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, he again won bronze in the triple jump with 15.11 meters. In the long jump he missed the final with 7.11 meters in eleventh place in the qualification. Curiously, three Olympic champions jumped 7.11 meters in this qualification - in addition to Tuulos, the triple jump winner from 1928 Mikio Oda and the long jump winner from 1924 DeHart Hubbard .

Vilho Tuulos was 1.83 m tall and weighed 77 kg during his playing days.
