Walter Plathe

Walter Fritz Ernst Plathe (born November 5, 1950 in Berlin ) is a German theater and film actor .

Life

Walter Plathe grew up in the former Rosenthaler Vorstadt in the East Berlin district of Mitte and initially wanted to become a veterinarian. That is why he learned the profession of specialist salesman for zoo items, in which he also initially worked. He also appeared in the youth studio of the cabaret Die Distel .

After attending the State Drama School in Berlin from 1968 onwards, he was engaged at the Schwerin State Theater in 1971 and at the Berlin Theater of Friendship, today Theater an der Parkaue , in 1976 . Since 1972 he has also worked in feature films and television productions. From the 1980s onwards there were also assignments as a moderator and conférencier . In June 1986 and December 1987, for example, he ran Kessel Buntes , one of the most important entertainment programs on GDR television. In 1988 he also hosted his own entertainment program here with Said is said .

In the summer of 1989, he appeared as a guest at the, among others, the GDR Union of Journalists organized, 20 solidarity bazaar of Berlin journalists at the Berlin Alexanderplatz and was on 14 September in the East German entertainment show fun with Hans-Georg Ponesky guest . Shortly afterwards he moved to the Federal Republic and lived in Hamburg for a few years.

After 1990, Plathe became known to a broad public nationwide, in particular through his leading role in the ZDF television series Der Landarzt , in which he represented the doctor Dr. Ulrich Teschner embodied. In addition, Plathe was and is a frequent guest in other TV series, u. a. Derrick . Furthermore, Plathe works as an Otto Reutter interpreter. In autumn 2010 he was on tour with a program of the Theater am Kurfürstendamm as Zille . In 2015 and 2017 he took on the role of Götz von Berlichingen at the Jagsthausen Castle Festival .

Plathe was married twice and has a son from his first marriage. In his second marriage from 1999 to 2008 he was married to the 23 years younger actress Victoria Sturm , who also starred in the series Der Landarzt (1999 to 2008). In his autobiography I have not missed anything , published in 2017, he first publicly admitted to bisexuality .

In 1999, Plathe co-founded the Zille Museum in Berlin with Harald Juhnke and Günter Pfitzmann , which opened in 2002 in the Nikolaiviertel.
