The Kořensko hydropower plant is a hydropower plant in Okres České Budějovice in the Czech Republic and part of the Vltava Cascade . The power plant is located three kilometers northwest of Týn nad Vltavou . In addition to the Vltava , the Lainsitz is also dammed. Both rivers meet about 1.8 kilometers above the dam.

The dam was built at the same time as the Hněvkovice dam, which is ten kilometers up the river . There, water is taken for the cooling water supply of the nearby Temelin nuclear power plant . The waste water from the nuclear power plant flows back into the Vltava near Kořensko.

The system is already in the storage area of the Orlík dam . A damming takes place only when the level of the Orlík dam is below 353.05  m nm . The main purpose of the building is to prevent strong fluctuations in the water level in the town of Týn nad Vltavou . At the southern end of the facility there is a lock for ships up to 300 t (45 m × 6 m).

The river runs through four weir openings, each 20 meters wide. There are two Kaplan turbines with 1.9 MW each to generate  energy .
