The AquaCabrio Wassertaxi 3 is a passenger ship from the traditional company Weisse Flotte Potsdam in the Brandenburg state capital Potsdam . The keel was laid in the winter of 2012/13 in an assembly hall at the Bolle shipyard . The launch took place in spring 2013 and the commissioning at the beginning of the 2013 season.
The Havel flows through the Brandenburg state capital Potsdam over a length of about ten kilometers . There are numerous interesting mooring points between Sacrow and the Templin forest pool and the Templin forester's house on Lake Templin . On April 28, 2007, the Potsdam water taxi started operating on schedule.
The ship
The water taxi 3 is 31 meters long and 5.10 meters wide. The average draft is about 90 centimeters. It is equipped with a 166 kW diesel engine to drive the propeller and a smaller diesel engine with a generator to generate electricity. The steering gear works hydraulically. The box rudder behind the propeller and the bow thruster located in the bow ensure good maneuverability . The crew consists of a skipper and a sailor / engine attendant. On busy weekends during the main holiday season, a third member of the crew comes to support. A special feature of the AquaCabrio design is the flexibly usable and movable glass roof. This allows passengers to sit in the open air, and when the weather is poor and rain showers are approaching, the canopy can be closed quickly and still offers good visibility. The water taxi 3 can transport 60 people and around 20 bicycles at the same time. Some bike racks are assigned free charging stations for e-bikes . The toilet on board is barrier-free.
