Crossroads in the mill

The wayside cross in the mill on the outskirts of the small Palatinate town of Deidesheim is a field cross that is classified as a cultural monument according to the monument protection law of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate .

The cross is about 500 meters southwest of Deidesheim in the hallway "In der Mühle". The Weinbach flows directly in front of the cross , in front of which the Mühltalstraße runs. A few meters further to the southwest is the Deidesheim elevated tank .

The cross, made of sandstone, was erected in 1905. It stands on a base and like this one is kept quite simple. The base bears the following inscription:

Everything depends on God's blessing !

Erected in 1905.

The cross was donated by Josef Schreck, a teacher from Deidesheim, and his wife Anna Dunkel. It is 3.90 m, its base 1.40 m high. The “corpus in hollow sheet metal” mentioned by the General Directorate for Cultural Heritage Rhineland-Palatinate in its property description is currently no longer on the cross.
