Welliton (born October 22, 1986 in Conceição do Araguaia , Pará ; born Welliton Soares Morais ) is a Brazilian soccer player ( striker ) and was considered one of the greatest storm talents in Brazil. Due to its flexibility, it can also be used in the midfield.
Career
Welliton began his football career at Goiás EC, where he was promoted to the first team in 2005, scored nine goals in 26 appearances and became a regular. On December 28, 2006, the then 20-year-old Welliton moved on loan to Ituano FC in the second highest Brazilian league, the Série B . In 2007 he moved back to Goiás EC , where he scored six goals in 26 appearances and from where he moved to Spartak Moscow in the top Russian division, the Premjer League , on July 25, 2007 , where he had a contract until the year Signed in 2012.
For the 2014/15 season he moved to the Turkish Süper Lig for promoted Mersin İdman Yurdu .
In the summer of 2016, he and his two team-mates Muammer Yıldırım and Préjuce Nakoulma were signed by the first division club Kayserispor . Welliton scored 12 goals in 28 games in the 2016/17 season. Shortly before the start of the 2017/18 season, the striker terminated his contract with Kayserispor. Here he finished his first season with 12 goals in 28 league games and thus experienced his most successful season in Turkey. After the end of the season, his contract was terminated by mutual agreement with the club's management after both sides had previously had a dispute over outstanding salary payments.
