Wendershausen is a district of Tann (Rhön) in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda .
geography
Wendershausen is located in the Hessische Rhön Nature Park , northeast of the Wasserkuppe in the Ulstertal at the confluence of the Weid and Ulster .
history
Wendershausen was first mentioned in a document in 836 under the name Meginherihus , making it the oldest place in Ulstergrund.
Modern times
As part of the regional reform in Hesse , Wendershausen was incorporated into the city of Tann (Rhön) on April 1, 1970 .
From 2000 to 2008 the village was renewed with the creation of a new village center, the "Johnsche Estate". This former three-sided courtyard contains a festival barn, archery range and a clubhouse for the "Redneck Bowhunters", showers and changing rooms for "FV Germania Wendershausen", a village hall with kitchen and a youth room. A new fire station built in 2004 for the volunteer fire brigade is attached to the large parking lot of the barn. On the opposite side is the Lindenplatz with the pasture, the renatured mill moat and the newly built playground. Grants for a new athletes' home of the FV Germania were unfortunately not kept despite previous promises on the part of the Tanner politicians, in the event of the old town house being sold.
